About the job
As senior autonomous systems software developer, you will have a key role in finding ways to automate the construction industry. Our ambition is to automate the earthmoving industry and your ultimate goal is to ensure the best possible working conditions for staff in infrastructure and building projects around the world.

At Unicontrol the entire R&D team is charged with delivering high quality solutions, and we have the same ambition for our future autonomous system solutions. You will work with application experts, distributors, and end-customers to find the combination of excellence, accessibility, and safety that embodies Unicontrol solutions.

What we are looking for now, is an autonomous systems software developer with the mission to define and establish the framework and software for autonomous earthmoving operation by Unicontrol systems, so that we can help our customers scale faster. Your key mission will be to develop and continuously improve the automated systems and build solutions that are verified and safe.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Develop state-of-the-art autonomous systems for the construction industry
  • Focus on good software design and practices
  • Prototyping to get early feedback
  • Architecture definitions
  • Safety design and evaluation
  • Communication with the rest of the team and external partners
  • Document results for validation in connection with regulatory approvals of our solutions

Your profile
You are a creative and detail-oriented person, who is known for independent decision making and good solutions. You work in a structured way and have great communication skills internally and externally. You probably work now with autonomous systems in robotics, automotive, or similar industries, but you now want to attain a leading role in an industry with global reach.

As a person, you have excellent application skills. You understand safety and usage issues and find ways to combine these to use cases that customers accept and want to deploy. You are able to be creative, and think out of the box, while always being positive and bringing a sense of humour to the team.

Key points on your profile:

  • University degree within SW engineering, Robotics or Computer Science
  • Several years of commercial experience in C++
  • 3+ years of autonomous or robotics software experience – e.g. ADAS background
  • Experience with ROS2 (Robot Operating System)
  • Hardware integration experience is a plus
  • Proficient in English
